Happy Holidays, Minority Leaders!

This holiday season, I want to take a moment to express our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. This year, after a long hiatus, I relaunched this podcast to continue the important work of elevating the voices -and inspiring the next generation- of women of color leaders in politics, policymaking, and more. I am incredibly grateful to have you along for this beautiful journey of sisterhood, allyship, mentorship and empowerment.

As you embark on your holiday travels, I invite you to take our podcast along for the journey. I have curated a special Holiday Playlist, featuring some of our favorite episodes that highlight family, friendships, and community!

Whether you're on the road, in the air, or simply relaxing at home, these episodes are here to entertain and inspire you throughout the festive season. Listen by following the links below, and don't forget to rate, review, and share your favorite episodes with the women of color leaders and future leaders in your life!

From all of us at The Minority Leaders, we wish you a joyous holiday and a wonderful New Year.

OUR HOLIDAY PLAYLIST:

Dr. KWAMME ANDERSON

The Carey Consulting Firm

During the holiday season, no matter our religion, we all need a bit of a WORD! In this episode my Delta Sigma Theta soror and former Capitol Hill colleague, Dr. Kwamme Anderson gives.us.a.WORD. I still listen it any time I need a little empowerment sesh'. Kwamme shares advice on how to discover and pursue your true purpose in life and possibly more important-- how to keep purpose at the center of your career. This is an invaluable interview you don't want to miss this holiday season.

ERIKA WEST

The Raben Group

This Mother's Day 2021 episode remains one of my absolute favorites. Erika and I have been friends since our days at Howard University. A wise and humble social impact strategist, Erika shares endearing stories about growing up with a single mother -who happened to be a politician, and hilarious older sister - now a famous comedienne. Erika's understated yet powerful ability to lead from behind reminds the next generation of Minority Leaders that we don’t have to run around with a bullhorn to be impactful.

DEESHA DYER

BeGirl World and Hook & Fasten

This early episode of the podcast features my friend since 9th grade, Deesha Dyer, former Social Secretary for the Obama White House. Deesha is a Philly girl, community activist, and late bloomer in the world of federal politics, who started her White House internship at 31 years old after graduating community college. Her story is nothing short of inspirational. Share this episode the the young women in your life!

DAWN ALLEN

The Autism Grind

This episode features one of my oldest and dearest friends- another fellow Howard University alum, Dawn Allen. Dawn and I discuss her journey from a young mom of a child on the autism spectrum to leading advocate and educator for parents of kids with different abilities, especially kids of color. This episode reminds us that our passion for leadership is often sparked at home, through our lived experiences. Your quest to solve a problem in your family can help people you will never meet, but who will be forever grateful for your leadership.

I hope you enjoy these episodes as much as we did.

Thank you for being part of our extended family. We look forward to bringing you more powerful episodes in 2024!

Sincerely,

Algene Sajery
